Chicago Region Arts Scan

Those who live in the Chicago region know that it is a global center for the arts, but there has been no firm answer to questions as simple as: How many non-profit arts organizations are now active in this region? Where are new ones being founded now, in the city or suburbs? What fractions of them produce theater, or dance, or music? The Gaylord and Dorothy Donnelley Foundation has conducted a comprehensive empirical scan of the region and found some surprising answers. You can download the full report including our research methods, and all the data in an Excel file.
