Lucy Knight, Knight Consulting
Lucy has been a consultant to the foundation and its grantees since 1995. As principal of Knight Consulting, which she founded in 1992, she works with independent foundations, corporate foundations, and nonprofit practitioners in the areas of strategic planning, board development, meeting facilitation, and outcome evaluation. She has taught fundraising, evaluation and communications at various institutions, including the Donors Forum of Chicago, DePaul University, and The School of the Art Institute. Previously, she was a fundraiser at Duke University, Wheaton College (Mass.), and a Boston settlement house. Currently Adjunct Professor of Communication Studies at Northwestern University and a member of the Advisory Board of the Center for Effective Philanthropy, she authored Citizen: Jane Addams and the Struggle for Democracy (University of Chicago Press, 2005).
