ANNOUNCEMENTS

• Calumet Summit 2010: A Call to Connect was held April 27 and 28, 2010 at Purdue University Calumet in Hammond, Indiana, bringing together residents, ecological stewards, regional planners, educators, students, and representatives from cultural institutions, government agencies, environmental groups, and businesses. Sir Peter Crane spoke at the summit, and his remarks are available here on our Calumet page.

RESEARCH & REPORTS

• Expert Help for Midwest Land Trusts and Conservation Organizations: Midwest land trust and conservation organizations in need of legal, financial, fundraising, technical or communications can find help at the Market for Midwest Resources, located on the Midwest page of the Land Trust Alliance web site (last bullet point). Though not an endorsement of any specific business or individual, the list was developed by asking member land trusts for the names of vendors that they currently use to provide these types of services. The list is regularly updated and provides full contact information.

• In 2008 the foundation released a database of non-profit organizations with arts education and environmental education programs in the Chicago region and the Lowcountry of South Carolina.

• In 2006 the foundation completed a comprehensive Chicago region arts scan.
