Daniel Abel is an associate professor of marine biology at Coastal Carolina University. In addition to his research and teaching in his area of specialization, sharks, he now serves as the director of the sustainability initiative at the university. The author of nine books on marine biology and the environment, he has been active in encouraging the adoption of environmentally sustainable solutions in the broader community.
